What we collect, and only if you say yes

If you choose “Accept analytics”, we use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used. It records pages viewed, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site you arrived from. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, which help it tell visits apart. Google Analytics is configured to keep this data for 14 months, and the data is processed by Google.

We do not turn on Google’s advertising features, ad personalisation or Google signals.

What we do not collect without your consent

Until you accept, nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookies are set. If you choose “Reject”, that stays true. Your choice itself is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name crb-consent-v1, so we do not keep asking. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. We ask again after 12 months.

Changing your mind

Use the “Cookie settings” button in the footer of any page. Choosing “Reject” there stops measurement and deletes the Google Analytics cookies for this site. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser.

Links from LinkedIn

Links we share on LinkedIn may include tracking parameters (for example utm_source) that we add ourselves, so we can tell which posts bring readers here. They are part of the link you click. They are only read by analytics if you have accepted it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, object to how it is used, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact us through the About page. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
